Found this today in a charity book shop in Daehangno. 5,000 won for 241 pages on Mummies, Disease and Ancient Cultures…
Even better, it has a whole chapter devoted to the mummification of Japanese monks 1000 years ago:

"Here, too, is little known information about the priests of Japan who voluntarily committed themselves to self-mummification, in which a severely restricted diet before death was followed by three-year entombment; the body was then removed from its underground chamber and dried." - Taken from the blurb on the back of the book.
